Let’s face it: Your child’s things
are going to get icky and
sticky. But before you toss her
favorite stu ed toy or shell
out for a new stroller, give
these germ-busting tips a try.
LACKLUS TER LOVEY
Put a plush toy in a mesh
lingerie bag and machine-wash
in warm water on the delicate
cycle, then let it air-dry.

STICKY HIGH CHAIR
Throw the chair into the
tub and run the shower; scrub
with a sponge and dish soap,
rinse well, and towel-dry.
If a removable tray is
dishwasher-safe, place it
on the top rack.
SPLOTCHED S TROLLER
Vacuum the seat crevices,
then spot-clean with warm water
and dish soap; leave it unfolded
to air-dry. Hose down the wheels
to remove dirt in the spokes.
CRUMB Y CAR SEAT
Remove the seat cover
and shake out any petrified
Cheerios from the crevices.
Machine-wash in cold water
on the delicate cycle, then
hang-dry to prevent shrinking.
